Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 32 ounces frozen tater tots
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional: chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  3. Add diced onion and garlic; sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  5. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.
  6. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  7. Layer the frozen tater tots evenly over the beef mixture.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the tater tots.
  10. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with green onions if desired.
