Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups (300g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (240ml) whole milk, at room temperature
  • 3 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour the cake pans or line with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add the vanilla.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk; mix until just combined.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
