Ingredients:
- 4 medium tomatoes, diced (approximately 1 pound or 450 g)
- 1 medium red onion, finely chopped (about 1 cup or 150 g)
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped (optional, for heat)
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Juice of 1 lime (around 2 tablespoons or 30 mL)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Dice tomatoes; chop onion, bell pepper, jalapeño, and cilantro.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine diced tomatoes, red onion, green bell pepper, jalapeño, and cilantro.
- Squeeze lime juice over the mixture; sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Gently fold ingredients together until well mixed.
- Cover salsa and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Stir before serving and enjoy with tortilla chips or as a topping for other dishes.
