Ingredients:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup fresh Sampaguita flowers (ensure they are pesticide-free)

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until steaming, but do not boil.
  2. Remove from heat and add fresh Sampaguita flowers. Let steep for 30 minutes.
  3. After steeping, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a mixing bowl to remove the flowers.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Cover the mixture and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or until completely cold.
  6. Pour the chilled mixture into the ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturers instructions (generally about 20-25 minutes).
  7. Transfer the churned ice cream to a freezer-safe container. Cover and freeze for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  8. Scoop and enjoy your Churned Sampaguita Ice Cream Delight!
