Ingredients:

  • 5 fl oz Peach Schnapps (Good quality, chilled)
  • 4 fl oz Fresh Orange Juice (Chilled, adjust to taste)
  • Sufficient amount Ice (Large cubes preferred)
  • 1 Maraschino Cherry (for garnish)
  • 1 Orange Wheel or Wedge (for garnish, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Chill the Glass: Place the Highball or Collins glass in the freezer for 5 minutes, or fill it with ice water while preparing the ingredients. Discard the water before serving.
  2. Prepare Juice and Garnish: If using fresh oranges, squeeze and strain 4 fl oz (120 ml) of juice. Ensure the juice is well-chilled. Slice one orange wheel or wedge and prepare the maraschino cherry.
  3. Fill the Glass: Fill the chilled Highball glass fully with fresh, hard ice cubes.
  4. Measure Schnapps: Pour 1.5 fl oz (45 ml) of chilled Peach Schnapps over the ice.
  5. Add Orange Juice: Gently top the schnapps and ice with 4 fl oz (120 ml) of orange juice.
  6. Gentle Stir: Use a bar spoon to stir the mixture gently three to five times. The goal is to combine the liquids without aggressive aeration or premature dilution.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Place the orange wheel on the rim of the glass and drop the cherry into the drink or spear it onto a garnish stick. Serve immediately.
