Ingredients:
- 2 lbs large shrimp, deveined and shells on
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced into 1-inch pieces
- 4 medium-sized red potatoes, halved
- 4 ears of corn, cut into thirds
- 1 large onion, quartered
- 1 lemon, halved
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
- 4 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning (or to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Melted butter (optional)
- Hot sauce (optional)
Instructions:
- Fill a large stock pot with water (about 3/4 full) and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Stir in Old Bay seasoning, salt, lemon halves, garlic, and onion. Allow the mixture to boil for 5 minutes to infuse flavors.
- Add halved potatoes to the pot and boil for 10-12 minutes or until tender when pierced with a fork.
- Stir in the corn and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Add the sliced sausage, cooking for another 3-4 minutes.
- Finally, add the shrimp and boil until they are pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes.
- Carefully strain the contents of the pot, then transfer everything onto a large serving platter or newspaper. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with melted butter and hot sauce on the side.
