Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs large shrimp, deveined and shells on
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced into 1-inch pieces
  • 4 medium-sized red potatoes, halved
  • 4 ears of corn, cut into thirds
  • 1 large onion, quartered
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • 4 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 4 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning (or to taste)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Melted butter (optional)
  • Hot sauce (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Fill a large stock pot with water (about 3/4 full) and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Stir in Old Bay seasoning, salt, lemon halves, garlic, and onion. Allow the mixture to boil for 5 minutes to infuse flavors.
  3. Add halved potatoes to the pot and boil for 10-12 minutes or until tender when pierced with a fork.
  4. Stir in the corn and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Add the sliced sausage, cooking for another 3-4 minutes.
  6. Finally, add the shrimp and boil until they are pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Carefully strain the contents of the pot, then transfer everything onto a large serving platter or newspaper. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with melted butter and hot sauce on the side.
