Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups Silver/Blanco Tequila (100% Agave)
  • 1 cup Cointreau orange liqueur
  • 0.75 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2.5 tablespoons agave nectar
  • 0.5 cup chilled filtered water
  • 0.25 cup Kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime zest
  • 8 thin lime wheels

Instructions:

  1. Juice the limes: Squeeze approximately 8-10 fresh limes to yield 3/4 cup of juice, ensuring no seeds enter the liquid.
  2. Combine base ingredients: In a large glass pitcher, pour in the tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, and agave nectar.
  3. Add dilution: Pour in 1/2 cup of chilled filtered water to mimic the dilution usually achieved through shaking with ice.
  4. Stir: Use a long-handled spoon to stir the mixture vigorously until the agave nectar is fully integrated and the liquid is uniform.
  5. Prepare rims: On a small plate, mix the kosher salt and lime zest. Run a lime wedge around the rim of 8 glasses and dip them into the salt mixture.
  6. Serve: Fill the salted glasses with fresh ice, pour the margarita mixture from the pitcher, and garnish each glass with a lime wheel.
