Ingredients:

  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 4 large chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on (about 1.5-2 lbs)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooking spray

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar.
  2. Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Coat the chicken in the marinade, ensuring an even coverage. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for about 5 minutes.
  4. Place marinated chicken thighs in the air fryer basket skin side up. Spray lightly with cooking spray for extra crispiness. Cook for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  5. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Cook longer if needed.
  6. Rest for 5 minutes and brush with extra barbecue sauce if desired before serving.
