Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (220 g) packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups (360 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups (340 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Grease (or line with parchment paper) the baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until smooth.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition; then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  9. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Allow the bars to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into bars and serve.
