Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 ½ cups vodka (or neutral grain spirit)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional, for acidity)

Instructions:

  1. Hull and rinse the strawberries. Slice them for better infusion.
  2. Place the strawberries in a glass jar and add 1 cup of the sugar. Gently muddle to release juices.
  3. Pour the vodka over the strawberries. Seal the jar tightly and shake gently.
  4. Store the jar in a cool, dark place for 24-48 hours, shaking it occasionally.
  5. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water and remaining sugar. Heat until sugar dissolves. Cool completely.
  6. Strain the infused vodka through a fine strainer or cheesecloth into a clean jar.
  7. Add the cooled simple syrup to the infused vodka. Optionally mix in lemon juice. Stir to combine.
  8. Transfer the liqueur into a bottle using a funnel and seal tightly. Store in the fridge.
