Ingredients:
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 ½ cups vodka (or neutral grain spirit)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional, for acidity)
Instructions:
- Hull and rinse the strawberries. Slice them for better infusion.
- Place the strawberries in a glass jar and add 1 cup of the sugar. Gently muddle to release juices.
- Pour the vodka over the strawberries. Seal the jar tightly and shake gently.
- Store the jar in a cool, dark place for 24-48 hours, shaking it occasionally.
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water and remaining sugar. Heat until sugar dissolves. Cool completely.
- Strain the infused vodka through a fine strainer or cheesecloth into a clean jar.
- Add the cooled simple syrup to the infused vodka. Optionally mix in lemon juice. Stir to combine.
- Transfer the liqueur into a bottle using a funnel and seal tightly. Store in the fridge.
