Ingredients:

  • 2 oz George Dickel 90 Proof Tennessee Whisky
  • 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz honey syrup (3 parts honey to 1 part warm water)
  • 2 dashes Angostura or Orange bitters
  • 1 fresh lemon wheel or twist
  • 1 sprig of fresh rosemary or mint

Instructions:

  1. Chill a rocks glass or coupe glass in the freezer for 5 minutes. Prepare the honey syrup by whisking 3 parts honey with 1 part warm water until dissolved, then allow to cool.
  2. Combine the George Dickel 90 Proof whisky, fresh lemon juice, and honey syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add bitters if desired.
  3. Fill the shaker 3/4 full with solid ice cubes and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the exterior is frost-cold.
  4. Double-strain the mixture through a Hawthorne strainer and fine-mesh sieve into the chilled glass over a large ice cube.
  5. Garnish with a lemon twist or wheel and a sprig of fresh rosemary or mint for aroma.
