Ingredients:

  • 1 wedge Fresh Lime
  • 1 tbsp (15g) Tajín seasoning or coarse sea salt
  • 1 slice Fresh Grapefruit or Orange wheel
  • 1 Maraschino cherry
  • 2 oz (60ml) Tequila Blanco or Reposado
  • 1 oz (30ml) Freshly squeezed Orange juice
  • 0.5 oz (15ml) Freshly squeezed Grapefruit juice
  • 0.5 oz (15ml) Freshly squeezed Lime juice
  • 1 pinch (approx. 1/8 tsp) Sea salt
  • 5 oz (150ml) Sparkling Grapefruit Soda (Squirt or Jarritos)
  • 1 cup (approx. 150g) Fresh ice cubes

Instructions:

  1. Moisten the rim of a traditional clay pot or highball glass with a lime wedge. Dip the rim into Tajín or sea salt until evenly coated.
  2. Add a pinch of sea salt to the bottom of the vessel. Pour in the fresh orange juice, grapefruit juice, and lime juice.
  3. Add the tequila to the citrus base and stir gently with a bar spoon to dissolve the salt.
  4. Fill the vessel to the top with fresh ice cubes.
  5. Slowly pour the sparkling grapefruit soda over the ice. Stir once very gently to combine while preserving carbonation.
  6. Garnish with a citrus wheel and a maraschino cherry. Serve immediately.
