Ingredients:

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips

Instructions:

  1. Line a 9x13 inch baking dish with parchment paper (optional) for easier removal.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine sugar and corn syrup. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the mixture starts to boil.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter until fully melted and combined.
  4. Fold in Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use a greased spatula or your hands (moistened with water) to press evenly into the dish.
  6. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine milk chocolate chips and butterscotch chips. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until fully melted and smooth.
  7. Pour the melted chocolate-butterscotch mixture over the pressed cereal base and spread evenly with a spatula.
  8. Allow the bars to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes until the topping is set.
  9. Cut into squares or rectangles and serve!
