Ingredients:

  • 2 oz sloe gin
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • 3 oz highly chilled soda water
  • Garnish: 1 lemon wheel or twist

Instructions:

  1. Place your tall Highball or Collins glass in the freezer, or fill it completely with ice and water. A cold glass is critical for maintaining the fizz.
  2. Add 2 oz sloe gin, 1 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup into your cocktail shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker 2/3 full with solid, high-quality ice. Close the shaker and shake vigorously for a minimum of 15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty, ensuring the maximum chill and dilution.
  4. Dump the ice/water out of your chilled glass. Double strain the perfectly cold liquid mixture into the empty glass.
  5. Gently and slowly top the drink with 3 oz of highly chilled soda water. Pouring gently minimizes agitation and prevents the CO2 from immediately escaping.
  6. Finish with a lemon wheel or a twist. Serve immediately while the bubbles are still aggressively rising.
