- 1 cup whole milk (240ml)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (15ml)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (5g)
- ½ teaspoon salt (3g)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (30g) for cooking
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
- Maple syrup for drizzling (optional)
- Fresh berries for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until fully combined.
- Place the bread slices in the custard mixture for about 30 minutes, flipping once halfway.
- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a tablespoon of butter, allowing it to melt and coat the surface.
- Place soaked bread slices onto the skillet, cooking for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Transfer to plates, dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with maple syrup, and add fresh berries if desired.
