  • 8 slices thick-cut bread (Challah, Brioche, or Texas Toast)
  • 4 large eggs (200g)
  • 1 cup whole milk (240ml)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (15ml)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (5g)
  • ½ teaspoon salt (3g)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (30g) for cooking
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
  • Maple syrup for drizzling (optional)
  • Fresh berries for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  2. Place the bread slices in the custard mixture for about 30 minutes, flipping once halfway.
  3. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a tablespoon of butter, allowing it to melt and coat the surface.
  4. Place soaked bread slices onto the skillet, cooking for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Transfer to plates, dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with maple syrup, and add fresh berries if desired.
