Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • ½ cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • ½ cup (120ml) cold milk (or additional heavy cream)
  • ¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Pour in heavy cream and cold milk; mix until just combined.
  4. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it 5-6 times until it comes together.
  5. Pat or roll the dough to about 1-inch thick.
  6. Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Brush the tops with melted butter for a golden finish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving warm.
