Ingredients:
- 2 cups (240 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup (120 ml) whole milk
- 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
- ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar (for coating)
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- Vegetable oil (for deep frying)
Instructions:
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix milk, sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up.
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/2-inch thickness.
- Cut out rounds using a cookie cutter or knife.
- In a pot or fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully add dough rounds to hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a cooling rack.
- In a shallow dish, mix sugar and cinnamon, then coat each cronut in cinnamon sugar while soft.
