Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (120 g)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (12 g)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder (4 g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (3 g)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk (240 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5 ml)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying - about 2-4 cups)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Chocolate sauce or caramel sauce (for drizzling, optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually combine the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until smooth. Let the batter rest for 15 minutes.
  4. In a deep pot, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C) for frying.
  5. Dip each Oreo one at a time into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  6. Carefully lower the battered Oreos into the hot oil, frying them in batches for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  7. Remove Oreos with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with optional sauces before serving.
