Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (120 g)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (12 g)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder (4 g)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (3 g)
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup milk (240 ml)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5 ml)
- Vegetable oil (for frying - about 2-4 cups)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- Chocolate sauce or caramel sauce (for drizzling, optional)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually combine the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until smooth. Let the batter rest for 15 minutes.
- In a deep pot, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C) for frying.
- Dip each Oreo one at a time into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
- Carefully lower the battered Oreos into the hot oil, frying them in batches for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
- Remove Oreos with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with optional sauces before serving.
