- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (12g)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup whole milk (240ml)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- Chocolate sauce or whipped cream (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions:
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C). Use a candy thermometer to monitor.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg and mix in milk and vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just blended (lumps are okay).
- Cover the batter and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Using the chilled batter, dip each Oreo into the batter fully, coating them evenly.
- Carefully place the battered Oreos in the hot oil (fry in batches).
- Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined baking sheet to drain excess oil.
- Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with chocolate sauce or whipped cream if desired. Enjoy warm!
