Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (120g)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (12g)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder (4g)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (1g)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk (240ml)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5ml)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying, approximately 2 cups or 480ml)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Optional: chocolate sauce or whipped cream for drizzling

Instructions:

  1. Pour vegetable oil into a deep frying pan or pot until it reaches 2 inches deep. Heat the oil to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  3. Using a fork, dip each Oreo one at a time into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
  4. Carefully place the battered Oreos into the hot oil. Fry in batches (about 3-4 at a time) for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown. Use tongs or a slotted spoon to turn them halfway for even cooking.
  5. Remove the fried Oreos from the oil and drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
