Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground pork or mild sausage meat
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional for sweetness)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, sage, thyme, paprika, and maple syrup/honey (if using). Mix well until evenly combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Add vegetable oil to a non-stick skillet and heat over medium heat.
  4. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked.
  5. Remove patties from skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm with your favorite breakfast accompaniments.
