Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground pork or mild sausage meat
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional for sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, sage, thyme, paprika, and maple syrup/honey (if using). Mix well until evenly combined.
- Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Add vegetable oil to a non-stick skillet and heat over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked.
- Remove patties from skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm with your favorite breakfast accompaniments.
