Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, finely chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 4 (6-ounce/170 g) tuna steaks, about 1-inch thick
  • Optional: Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, rosemary, basil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Place tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. While the tuna is marinating, preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F/200°C).
  4. Remove tuna from marinade (discard marinade) and place steaks on the grill. Grill for 3-5 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
  5. Remove from grill and let rest for a minute. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
