Ingredients:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.25 tsp sea salt
  • 0.25 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1 tsp avocado oil
  • 3 tbsp raw clover honey
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp sliced green onions
  • 0.5 tsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Pat the shrimp bone-dry with paper towels to ensure a proper sear. In a small glass bowl, whisk together the honey, low-sodium soy sauce, grated garlic, and lemon juice until fully emulsified.
  2. Season the shrimp with smoked paprika, sea salt, and black pepper. Heat avocado oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Arrange shrimp in a single layer in the skillet. Sear for 2 minutes until the bottoms turn pink and opaque.
  4. Flip carefully. Turn each shrimp over.
  5. Pour the honey-garlic glaze into the skillet. It should sizzle loudly immediately.
  6. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, tossing the shrimp constantly until the sauce thickens into a sticky lacquer.
  7. Remove from heat as soon as the shrimp form a tight C shape. They should look glossy and velvety.
  8. Garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
