Ingredients:
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
- 0.25 tsp sea salt
- 0.25 tsp cracked black pepper
- 1 tsp avocado oil
- 3 tbsp raw clover honey
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, grated
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp sliced green onions
- 0.5 tsp toasted sesame seeds
Instructions:
- Pat the shrimp bone-dry with paper towels to ensure a proper sear. In a small glass bowl, whisk together the honey, low-sodium soy sauce, grated garlic, and lemon juice until fully emulsified.
- Season the shrimp with smoked paprika, sea salt, and black pepper. Heat avocado oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Arrange shrimp in a single layer in the skillet. Sear for 2 minutes until the bottoms turn pink and opaque.
- Flip carefully. Turn each shrimp over.
- Pour the honey-garlic glaze into the skillet. It should sizzle loudly immediately.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes, tossing the shrimp constantly until the sauce thickens into a sticky lacquer.
- Remove from heat as soon as the shrimp form a tight C shape. They should look glossy and velvety.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
