Ingredients:

  • ½ cup popcorn kernels
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, add vegetable oil and heat over medium-high heat until hot (test by adding 2-3 popcorn kernels).
  2. Once the test kernels pop, add the remaining popcorn kernels and sugar to the pot.
  3. Quickly cover the pot with the lid and shake gently to distribute the sugar evenly.
  4. Continue shaking the pot every few seconds until popping slows down (about 2 seconds between pops).
  5. Remove the pot from heat when popping slows significantly and let stand for a minute before uncovering.
  6. Immediately transfer the popcorn to a large bowl, sprinkle with salt, and toss to combine. Enjoy!
