Ingredients:

  • 1 cup baking soda (120 grams)
  • 1 cup vinegar (240 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon dish soap (15 ml)
  • Water as needed for soaking

Instructions:

  1. Allow the grill to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. In a spray bottle, combine baking soda, vinegar, and dish soap. Add water to dilute if necessary, and shake to mix.
  3. Generously spray the solution onto the grill grates and let it sit for at least 15-20 minutes.
  4. Use the grill brush or steel wool pad to scrub the grates thoroughly, focusing on areas with heavy buildup.
  5. For extremely dirty grates, submerge them in hot, soapy water for up to 30 minutes, then scrub again.
  6. Rinse the grates under warm water and dry them thoroughly with a clean cloth or paper towels.
  7. Optionally, apply a light coat of cooking oil to prevent rust and keep them ready for the next grilling session.
