  • 1 cup steel cut oats (180g)
  • 3 cups water or milk (720ml)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (1.5g)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional) (15ml)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5ml)
  • Fresh fruits (bananas, berries, etc.)
  • Nuts (almonds, walnuts)
  • Cinnamon or nutmeg
  • Yogurt or nut butter

Instructions:

  1. Gather all ingredients and equipment.
  2. In the Instant Pot, add steel cut oats, water (or milk), and salt. Stir to combine.
  3. Close the lid of the Instant Pot and ensure the valve is set to 'Sealing.'
  4. Select the 'Manual' or 'Pressure Cook' setting and set the timer for 10 minutes.
  5. Once the cooking time is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes. Then switch to 'Venting' to release any remaining steam.
  6. Carefully open the lid. Stir the oats gently. If desired, sweeten with maple syrup and vanilla extract.
  7. Serve warm with your choice of toppings.
