Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh white fish fillets, skinless and boneless
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 8-10 limes)
- ½ cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1 medium jalapeño, seeds removed and finely diced
- 1 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 medium cucumber, diced
- 1 teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
- ½ teaspoon black pepper, freshly cracked
- Tortilla chips (for serving)
- Avocado slices (for serving)
- Fresh lime wedges (for serving)
Instructions:
- Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat dry. Cut fish into small, uniform cubes (about 1/2 inch).
- In a mixing bowl, combine fish with lime juice. Ensure fish is fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for 20-30 minutes, stirring halfway through.
- While the fish marinates, finely chop red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro. Dice cucumber and set aside.
- After the fish has marinated, drain excess lime juice (to taste). Add chopped vegetables and spices (salt and pepper) to the fish. Mix gently to combine.
- Adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve chilled with tortilla chips, avocado, and lime wedges.
