Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh white fish fillets, skinless and boneless
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 8-10 limes)
  • ½ cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium jalapeño, seeds removed and finely diced
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 medium cucumber, diced
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper, freshly cracked
  • Tortilla chips (for serving)
  • Avocado slices (for serving)
  • Fresh lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat dry. Cut fish into small, uniform cubes (about 1/2 inch).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine fish with lime juice. Ensure fish is fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for 20-30 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  3. While the fish marinates, finely chop red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro. Dice cucumber and set aside.
  4. After the fish has marinated, drain excess lime juice (to taste). Add chopped vegetables and spices (salt and pepper) to the fish. Mix gently to combine.
  5. Adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve chilled with tortilla chips, avocado, and lime wedges.
