Ingredients:

  • 4 oz (113g) Beef Sirloin Steak, about ½ inch thick
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) Olive Oil
  • 1/4 tsp (1.25 ml) Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp (1.25 ml) Onion Powder
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Pinch of Black Pepper
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) Milk or Cream
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Pinch of Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp (7.5 ml) Butter
  • 1 Everything Bagel, split
  • 1 slice American Cheese (or Cheddar or Provolone)
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) Butter, softened

Instructions:

  1. Season steak with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust time for desired doneness). Let rest for a few minutes, then thinly slice against the grain.
  3. While the steak is resting, toast the bagel halves to your desired level of doneness. Spread each half with softened butter.
  4. Whisk eggs with milk/cream, salt, and pepper. Melt butter in the same skillet over medium heat. Pour in the egg mixture and cook, gently stirring and scrambling, until set but still slightly moist.
  5. Place one slice of American cheese on the bottom bagel half. Top with the cooked egg, sliced steak, and the top bagel half.
  6. Serve your homemade mcdonald's steak egg & cheese bagel immediately while it's hot and melty!
