Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz/400 g) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano (5 g)
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 12 oz spaghetti (340 g)
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions:
- Fill a large pot with salted water and bring to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook until al dente. Reserve 1 cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Pour in crushed tomatoes and stir in oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet. Toss to coat, using the rubber scraper to gather any remaining sauce. If sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
- Plate the spaghetti, garnish with fresh basil, and enjoy!
