Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) fresh asparagus, woody ends trimmed
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon (5g) sea salt
- ½ teaspoon (2g) black pepper
- Lemon wedges (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (for a savory finish)
Instructions:
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F/200°C).
- Rinse and trim the woody ends of the asparagus. In a bowl, toss the asparagus with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Place the asparagus directly on the grill grates or in a grill basket. Grill for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until tender and lightly charred.
- Asparagus is done when it is bright green and fork-tender but still has a slight crunch.
- Transfer the grilled asparagus to a serving platter, squeeze fresh lemon over, and sprinkle with Parmesan if desired.
