Ingredients:
- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 3 tbsp whole milk
- 1 tbsp melted unsalted butter
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Combine the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and baking powder directly in a microwave-safe mug. Use a fork to whisk them together until the color is a uniform mahogany-brown and no large clumps of flour remain.
- Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Whisk vigorously until the batter is velvety and smooth.
- Drop the semi-sweet chocolate chips into the center of the batter without stirring them in completely to create a molten core.
- Place the mug in the center of the microwave. Cook on high for 60 to 90 seconds. Stop when the top looks set but slightly tacky to the touch and the cake has risen into a soft dome.
