Ingredients:

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 tablespoons loose leaf green tea or 4 green tea bags
  • 1/4 cup sugar, adjust to taste
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice, about 4 limes
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar, adjust to taste (for the syrup)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves, optional for garnish
  • Lime wedges, optional for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Boil water in a medium saucepan.
  2. Remove from heat, add green tea leaves/bags, and steep for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Strain if using loose leaf tea; add sugar to hot tea and stir until dissolved.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine lime juice, water, and sugar for the syrup.
  5. Heat over medium until sugar dissolves completely; remove from heat.
  6. In a pitcher, mix the brewed green tea and lime syrup. Adjust sweetness to taste.
  7. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the tea mixture over.
  8. Garnish with fresh mint and lime wedges if desired.
