Ingredients:
- 4 cups water
- 4 tablespoons loose leaf green tea or 4 green tea bags
- 1/4 cup sugar, adjust to taste
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice, about 4 limes
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar, adjust to taste (for the syrup)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves, optional for garnish
- Lime wedges, optional for garnish
Instructions:
- Boil water in a medium saucepan.
- Remove from heat, add green tea leaves/bags, and steep for 4-5 minutes.
- Strain if using loose leaf tea; add sugar to hot tea and stir until dissolved.
- In a small saucepan, combine lime juice, water, and sugar for the syrup.
- Heat over medium until sugar dissolves completely; remove from heat.
- In a pitcher, mix the brewed green tea and lime syrup. Adjust sweetness to taste.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the tea mixture over.
- Garnish with fresh mint and lime wedges if desired.
