Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour (heat-treated)
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (90g) chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • Drizzle of melted chocolate
  • Sprinkles or crushed nuts

Instructions:

  1. If unheated, spread all-purpose flour onto a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes to kill bacteria. Let cool.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until light and fluffy.
  3. Add vanilla extract and salt to the creamed mixture, mixing until fully combined.
  4. Gradually add in the cooled, heat-treated flour, mixing just until combined.
  5. Gently fold in chocolate chips with a rubber spatula until evenly distributed.
  6. Scoop into serving bowls and drizzle with melted chocolate or add toppings as desired.
