Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons (30 g) goldenseal root, dried
- 4 cups (960 ml) water
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) fresh ginger root, peeled and sliced
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) dried chamomile flowers
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) honey (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon (5 mL) lemon juice (optional)
- Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Instructions:
- Measure and gather all ingredients.
- In a medium saucepan, combine goldenseal root and water.
- Add sliced ginger to the saucepan.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 20-30 minutes, uncovered.
- Stir in dried chamomile and continue to simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a heatproof container.
- Stir in honey and lemon juice, adjusting to taste.
- Ladle into cups and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired. Enjoy warm!
