Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240 ml) Ketchup
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) Brown Sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Molasses
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Smoked Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (or more, to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Tomato Paste

Instructions:

  1. In the medium saucepan, whisk together all the ingredients. Ensure the brown sugar is broken up and evenly distributed.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. The sauce will thicken slightly.
  4. Taste the sauce and adjust seasonings as needed. Add more cayenne for heat, brown sugar for sweetness, or vinegar for tang.
  5. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool completely. Transfer to an airtight jar or container and store in the refrigerator.
