Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) honey
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons (10 g) freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2 g) salt
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, whisk together honey, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, garlic powder, and salt until smooth.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer; watch for bubbles forming around the edges.
  3. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until slightly thickened. The sauce should coat the back of a spoon.
  4. Taste the sauce and adjust the flavors if needed; add more black pepper or red pepper flakes for heat.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool. Transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
