Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) popcorn kernels
- 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) vegetable oil (or coconut oil)
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 g) sea salt (or to taste)
Instructions:
- Place the pot over medium heat and add the vegetable oil.
- Add 2 or 3 popcorn kernels to the pot. Cover the lid.
- Once the test kernels pop, add in the remaining popcorn kernels and sugar. Stir to combine quickly.
- Securely cover the pot with the lid and begin shaking it gently back and forth over the heat.
- Continue shaking until the popping slows down to about 2 seconds between pops.
- Take the pot off the heat and carefully remove the lid, watching for steam.
- Immediately sprinkle with sea salt while the popcorn is still warm and toss gently.
- Allow it to cool slightly before transferring to a serving bowl.
