Ingredients:
- ounces (45 ml) London Dry Gin
- ounce (22.5 ml) Fresh Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice
- ounce (7.5 ml) Fresh Lemon Juice
- ounce (7.5 ml) Simple Syrup (1:1 ratio)
- To top (approx. 3-4 oz / 90-120 ml) Chilled Brut Champagne or Dry Sparkling Wine
- Grapefruit Twist or Wheel for garnish
- Ice
Instructions:
- Chill your champagne flute or coupe glass thoroughly, preferably in the freezer.
- Add the gin, fresh grapefruit juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker.
- Fill the shaker about two-thirds full with high-quality ice. Seal tightly and shake vigorously until the shaker is well-chilled on the outside (about 15–20 seconds).
- Double strain the chilled mixture from the shaker into the prepared, chilled glass.
- Gently top the mixture with the chilled Champagne or sparkling wine, pouring slowly to preserve the carbonation.
- Express the oils from a grapefruit twist over the surface of the drink by bending the peel, then place the twist or a thin wheel on the rim. Serve immediately.
