Ingredients:
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (175g) chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)
- 1/4 cup (45g) additional chocolate chips (optional)
- Sea salt flakes for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until no flour streaks remain.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently with a spatula.
- Transfer cookie dough into the preheated skillet; press evenly into the pan.
- Optionally, sprinkle additional chocolate chips and sea salt on top.
- Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden and the centre is set but still soft.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving straight from the skillet.
