Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (175g) chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)
  • 1/4 cup (45g) additional chocolate chips (optional)
  • Sea salt flakes for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until no flour streaks remain.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently with a spatula.
  7. Transfer cookie dough into the preheated skillet; press evenly into the pan.
  8. Optionally, sprinkle additional chocolate chips and sea salt on top.
  9. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden and the centre is set but still soft.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving straight from the skillet.
