Ingredients:

  • 8 cups day-old crusty bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried Italian herb blend
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C / Gas Mark 5).
  2. Cut the bread into even 1/2-inch cubes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Whisk together until well combined.
  4. Add the bread cubes to the bowl and toss thoroughly to coat evenly with the olive oil mixture.
  5. Spread the croutons in a single layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through for even browning.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet before serving or storing in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
