Ingredients:
- ½ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup mirin
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 4 large eggs
Instructions:
- Bring a medium saucepan of water to a boil. Carefully add the eggs and boil for 6-7 minutes.
- Prepare a bowl of ice water. Once cooked, transfer the eggs immediately to the ice bath to stop cooking.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, mirin, sugar, water, and sesame oil until the sugar dissolves.
- Once cooled, gently tap the eggs on a hard surface and peel under running water to help remove the shells easily.
- Place the peeled eggs in an airtight container or zip-top bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Remove the eggs from the marinade, slice in half, and enjoy with ramen or as a snack.
