Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (200g) Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup (240ml) Water
  • 1 Vanilla Bean, split lengthwise

Instructions:

  1. Split the vanilla bean lengthwise with a sharp knife. Scrape out the seeds.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Add the vanilla bean pod and the scraped seeds.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Once the sugar is dissolved, reduce the heat to low. Let simmer gently for 5 minutes to infuse the vanilla flavor.
  5. Remove from heat. Allow the syrup to cool completely (about 30 minutes).
  6. Pour the syrup into a clean, airtight jar or bottle. Store in the refrigerator.
