Ingredients:

  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 4 oz fresh ginger root, washed and roughly chopped
  • 2 oz fresh turmeric root, washed and roughly chopped
  • 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp raw honey

Instructions:

  1. Thoroughly scrub the ginger and turmeric roots to remove any debris. There is no need to peel them—the skin contains beneficial nutrients and will be strained out later.
  2. Place the chopped ginger, turmeric, water, lemon juice, orange juice, black pepper, cayenne, and honey into a high-speed blender.
  3. Blend on high for approximately 60 seconds until the roots are completely pulverized and the liquid is vibrant and opaque.
  4. Place a fine-mesh strainer or nut milk bag over a large glass measuring cup or bowl. Pour the mixture through, pressing down on the pulp with a spoon to extract every drop of liquid.
  5. Transfer the strained liquid into small glass airtight bottles (approx. 2 oz each) and store in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Note: The sediment will settle at the bottom, which is totally normal.
