Ingredients:
- 1 cup filtered water
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 4 oz fresh ginger root, washed and roughly chopped
- 2 oz fresh turmeric root, washed and roughly chopped
- 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tbsp raw honey
Instructions:
- Thoroughly scrub the ginger and turmeric roots to remove any debris. There is no need to peel them—the skin contains beneficial nutrients and will be strained out later.
- Place the chopped ginger, turmeric, water, lemon juice, orange juice, black pepper, cayenne, and honey into a high-speed blender.
- Blend on high for approximately 60 seconds until the roots are completely pulverized and the liquid is vibrant and opaque.
- Place a fine-mesh strainer or nut milk bag over a large glass measuring cup or bowl. Pour the mixture through, pressing down on the pulp with a spoon to extract every drop of liquid.
- Transfer the strained liquid into small glass airtight bottles (approx. 2 oz each) and store in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Note: The sediment will settle at the bottom, which is totally normal.
