Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for heat preference)
  • 2 pounds flank steak or skirt steak, sliced into thin strips

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, soy sauce, and minced garlic.
  2. Add cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, and cayenne. Whisk until combined.
  3. Place the sliced steak in a plastic resealable bag or shallow dish.
  4. Pour the marinade over the beef, ensuring it is fully coated.
  5. Seal the bag or cover the dish and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
  6. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  7. Remove the beef from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off.
  8. Grill or sear the beef for 3-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
  9. Remove beef from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  10. Serve with tortillas and your favorite toppings!
