Ingredients:

  • 1 large head of cauliflower (approx. 700g / 1.5 lbs), cut into florets
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (30 ml)
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp mustard powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 tbsp nutritional yeast (for a cheesy flavour)
  • Optional: Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the cauliflower florets and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the olive oil, onion powder, dried sage, garlic powder, smoked paprika, mustard powder, salt, pepper, and nutritional yeast (if using).
  3. Add the cauliflower florets to the bowl with the spice mix. Toss well to ensure each floret is evenly coated.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) if required (refer to your air fryer manual). Arrange the cauliflower florets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Don’t overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
  5. Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the cauliflower is tender and golden brown. Check for doneness by piercing a floret with a fork; it should be easily pierced.
  6. Remove the cauliflower from the air fryer and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with fresh parsley (optional) and serve immediately.
