  • 1/2 cup (115g) Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (100g) Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50g) Packed Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Milk (Whole or 2%)
  • 1 cup (170g) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions:

  1. Heat-Treat the Flour: Using your preferred heating method, heat treat flour to 165°F (74°C). Let cool completely before using.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Beat in the vanilla extract and milk until well combined.
  4. Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the cooled heat-treated flour and salt to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a rubber spatula.
  6. Chill (Optional): For a firmer texture, cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
