- 1/2 cup (115g) Unsalted Butter, softened
- 1/2 cup (100g) Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 cup (50g) Packed Light Brown Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 2 tablespoons Milk (Whole or 2%)
- 1 cup (170g) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
Instructions:
- Heat-Treat the Flour: Using your preferred heating method, heat treat flour to 165°F (74°C). Let cool completely before using.
- Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Beat in the vanilla extract and milk until well combined.
- Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the cooled heat-treated flour and salt to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a rubber spatula.
- Chill (Optional): For a firmer texture, cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
