Privacy Policy
How BelleRecipe collects, uses and protects your information
Last updated: October 23, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what information BelleRecipe ("we," "our," or "us") collects when you visit bellerecipe.com, why we collect it, who else may receive it and what choices you have. We keep the amount of data we handle small: we do not run user accounts, a newsletter or an online shop, so we do not ask for payment details, mailing addresses or phone numbers.
By using the site you acknowledge the practices described here. If you disagree with them, please stop using the site. You can also read our Terms of use and learn more about the site on the About us page.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Contact form: your name, email address and the message you write. We use this only to reply to you.
- Recipe ratings and comments: the name you enter and the text you submit. Comments and ratings may be displayed publicly on the recipe page, so please do not include personal details you want to keep private.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs: like most websites, our server records your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use these logs for security and troubleshooting.
- First-party visit statistics: our own server records which page was viewed and the referring website. Raw visit records are kept for 7 days, after which only daily totals remain.
- Cookies and similar technologies: set by the advertising, analytics and security services described below.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To reply to messages sent through the contact form
- To display ratings and comments on recipe pages
- To keep the site secure and to diagnose technical problems
- To understand which recipes and pages are useful, so we can improve the site
- To show advertising that helps cover the costs of running the site
We do not sell your contact-form details or comment information, and we do not use them for marketing.
4. Cookies and Third-Party Services
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Some are necessary for the site to work; others are set by the services listed below. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although parts of the site may then work less smoothly.
Google AdSense (advertising)
We display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Personalized ads are shown only with your consent. You can manage personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com, and you can learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Google Analytics (statistics)
We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated statistics about how visitors use the site, such as which pages are most read. It uses cookies for this purpose. The same Google links above explain how Google handles this data and how to control it.
Cloudflare (delivery and security)
The site is delivered and protected through Cloudflare, a content delivery and security service. It may set technical cookies and processes request data such as IP addresses in order to filter malicious traffic and speed up page loading.
Social profiles
We link to our profiles on Pinterest, Facebook and YouTube. Following those links takes you to services with their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave our site.
5. Consent for Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google's consent message appears so you can accept or decline cookies used for advertising and personalization. Personalized ads are shown only if you consent, and you can change your choice at any time through the consent tool or your browser settings.
6. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following bases:
- Consent for advertising cookies and personalized ads;
- Legitimate interests for server logs, security, first-party statistics and aggregated analytics, which help us keep the site safe and useful;
- Taking steps at your request when we answer a message you send through the contact form.
7. Data Retention
- Raw first-party visit records: kept for 7 days, then reduced to daily totals that do not identify you.
- Contact-form messages: kept only as long as needed to reply to you and handle any follow-up, then deleted.
- Comments and ratings: kept on the recipe page until you ask us to remove them or we delete them.
- Server logs: kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
- Data held by Google and Cloudflare: governed by their own retention policies.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Receive your information in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
To use any of these rights, send us a request through the contact page. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it.
9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act:
- The right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose
- The right to request access to and deletion of your personal information
- The right to correct inaccurate personal information
- The right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Advertising cookies from our ad partner may count as sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising; you can opt out through adssettings.google.com or your browser settings
- The right to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect it)
- The right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights
To submit a request, use the contact page.
10. Children's Privacy
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, including delivery of the site through Cloudflare's security services and limiting the data we keep. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy when our practices or the services we use change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Please check back from time to time.
